The trust-builder gift you can hand your buyers at closing.
You already talk to your buyers at the exact moment their family's biggest financial obligation just became real. Handing them a $4.99 independent assessmentthat shows them exactly what to buy (and what NOT to) if they want to protect that mortgage — that's the kind of unexpected value that gets you referred to their siblings for the next twenty years.
No cost to you. No commission tension. No awkward sales handoff. You give them a URL, they get a genuinely useful report, and your name is attached to it. That's the whole thing.
Why this works for your business
You look sharp without pitching anything
Your buyer thinks you're steering them toward a policy. What actually happens: they get an honest report about carriers, riders, and the questions to ask ANY insurance agent. When they realize they didn't get sold, you become the trusted advisor who tipped them off. That's the referral flywheel most professionals never quite unlock.
Solves a real problem your buyers actually have
First-time buyers especially don't know mortgage protection exists as a category distinct from the credit-life garbage the bank tried to sell them at closing. You handing them a resource that explains it — with real carrier comparisons, real approval odds, and a real refund guarantee — is the kind of proactive value most agents don't deliver.
Zero effort, zero cost, zero downside
We don't track referrals in a way that costs you time or exposes your data. There's no paperwork, no CE requirement, no legal disclosure obligation on your end — you're just sharing a URL to an assessment tool. If a buyer decides not to do it, nothing happens. If they do, they got value.
How to refer — three ways
All three work. Use whichever fits the moment. The URL is short and easy to say out loud: mortgageprotectionassessment.com
1 · The 15-second verbal (at closing, over coffee)
2 · The email template (send after closing)
Hey [name],
Congrats again on the closing — keys in hand feels good.
One thing I meant to mention: now that you have a mortgage, mortgage protection is worth understanding (it's a specific type of life insurance designed to pay off your mortgage if something happens to you). The bank sold you credit life at closing — that's not the same product and it's usually a bad deal.
There's a $4.99 assessment I've been pointing people to that gives you a straight-up comparison of 10 carriers with your specific profile scored against each one. Not a sales funnel — they refund it if you don't find it useful. Takes about four minutes:
mortgageprotectionassessment.com
No pressure, no obligation to do anything with it. Just wanted to make sure you saw it while it's top of mind.

3 · The printed handout (leave in your office / closing folder)
Print the one-page insert below and drop it in your closing folder or your office lobby. Cost: a sheet of paper. It has the URL, a QR code, and enough context to sell itself.
Before you buy mortgage protection — know the 7 questionsagents hope you won't ask.
You just took on the biggest financial obligation of your life. Mortgage protection insurance is designed to keep the roof over your family's heads if something happens to you — but it's a category most first-time buyers get sold on badly.
A $4.99 independent assessment scores you against 10 carriers with your specific profile, gives you the language to spot a captive salesperson in 60 seconds, and comes with a full money-back guarantee. Four minutes. No sales call. Written by a licensed producer.
Questions we get asked
Do I get a commission?
Not right now — we're running this as a straight-forward value-add referral relationship with no compensation on either side. It keeps the disclosures clean, keeps the buyer's trust in you, and keeps us honest about what we're offering. If you're a high-volume partner and want to discuss a formal referral arrangement (which requires state-by-state compliance review), reach out directly — we can talk about it.
What if my buyer isn't in a state you're licensed in?
The assessment product is national — the value of the report doesn't depend on where the buyer lives. TrueForge's founder (Dominic Raciti) is personally licensed in 14 states and can write policies for buyers in those states. Buyers outside that footprint get the same report and can apply direct-to-carrier using the exact carrier links included in the report. Nobody walks away empty-handed.
What's the actual money-back policy?
Buyer replies to the report-delivery email within 7 days saying it wasn't worth $4.99, we refund. No arguments, no forms, no follow-up sales calls. We've never disputed a refund request.
Can I white-label this?
Not currently, but it's on the roadmap. If you're running a brokerage or lending shop of meaningful size and want a co-branded version for your clients specifically, email dominic@trueforgeinsurance.com — we'll build something.
Ready to start referring?
No signup, no paperwork, no partner code to remember. The URL is the whole thing: mortgageprotectionassessment.com. Share it however works for you — verbally at closing, in an email, on a printed handout.
Questions or want to discuss a formal partnership? Email dominic@trueforgeinsurance.com or call (574) 392-0192. We'll respond same-day, every day.
